Carrying on from my last trip report on the British airways A 380 first class to Los Angeles, I will be returning to London on a British airways 747
business class. I am looking forward to it because it looks very good from what I have heard from other reviews. I really like the new layout because it helps you interact with the people you are travelling with really easily! I only picked business class because, on the 747, the British airways first class is not the best and I wanted to try it out anyway. I will be sitting in seat 14 B which is an aisle seat on the main deck. I did not want a window or middle seat because it is rather awkward when you have to step over a sleeping person which is probably the only bad point about the business class.
Anyway I arrived at LAX at 9:20 am for my 12:30 am flight. I really don't like LAX airport because I find it extremely confusing, but I found my way to the lounge or should I say Galleries, as British airways like to call it. I found the Lounge quite nice but nothing special and the food looked disgusting in the place that you can help yourself.
, but I didn't have much time to review it because I fell asleep in one of the super comfy chairs and was woken up by an announcement for a British Airways A380 leaving so I thought that I should be getting to my gate which was a 10 minute walk away:( . There were some excellent views of our plane that was being boarded.
The air hostess that greeted me was very nice and told me which direction to go . I wasn't blown away this time with the cabin because it looks, well, ordinary. It looks better to the old one but it is nothing amazing compared to other airlines . but I did find the seat very comfortable but not much privacy was given, although, to be fair, the Window and middle seats do have A LOT of privacy and if Qantas can claim that their first class seats are suites than so can British airways for these seats. But for the other person to get out of their seat they have to walk past/ climb over you if you are in the lie flat position. I am regretting not booking a window seat. I don't really like the 747 because it is very loud and the take off and landing are very bumpy. One thing I did like about the cabin was that there was a panel on the far wall with a glowing blue British airways logo and it made the cabin look a touch more modern. My seat was very nice although I think that the reading light could have been in a different area because I kept blocking it by accident. I was offered my pre-departure drink and I chose a ginger beer, because i didn't feel like champagne. As I sat down i found a pillow, a duvet and noise cancelling headphones. Luckily we were given our other things in our amenity kit which had many Elemis products in it.
After reaching cruise altitude we were given hot towels which was very nice and refreshing ( by the way we were given hot towels on first class but I just forgot to mention it, sorry). About an hour after take off the lunch service started. For the starter I had

Tiger prawn Bois bourdran with pepquinio and creme fraiche. For the main I had Roasted corn fed chicken with pea and broad bean fricassee sweet potato mash and port wine jus, this was nice but the presentation wasn't. For desert I had

Peach melba delice and raspberry confit. The presentation on this was better but it was a bit too doughy. Although it wasn't a brilliant meal, it was amazing for business class.
After I went to go and look at the on board snacks section, and it had a variety of snacks like mars bars, biscuits, snack bars , juices, fizzy and normal water. There were also some nice crisps and soft drinks. I then went back to my seat, turned it into a fully 180 degree bed and had a good 3 hours solid sleep on it. I then woke up 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to landing and was served afternoon tea. I had a
chocolate eclair, lemon cupcake and raspberry cream sponge. This was very nice and, in my opinion, and better then the dessert I had with my lunch. I had some other food as well ( the air hostess was very generous). And not long after we landed in London and it was raining surprise, surprise.
Overall I think the British airways business class is very nice and convenient for lone and couple travelers, so I massively recommend it to anyone.
