Cathay Pacific First class 777-300 er Spirit of Hong Kong livery.

Recently Cathay Pacific ( the airline of Hong Kong ) have bought a bunch of the new 777-300 er. They have a new business class and a refurbished first class. It now has a red carpet, in the first class cabin, and an easier to use, touch screen seat remote, but the TV remote hasn't changed. I am going from Hong Kong (HK) to Seoul ( sorry don't know the abbreviation for Seoul airport ).And I was very exited.

I arrived at the airport at 10:30 am for my 12:30 am flight. I was bought to the airport by car which was very nice, although the taxi was 10 minutes late ,it didn't bother me. I checked in and then went to the stunning lounge, The Wing. Right after you walk in there is the champagne bar which looked very comfy with red leather seats. They offered three champagnes and I chose the peninsula Brut champagne. It was very nice especially in the amazing champagne flutes. Cathay Pacific have promoted a caviar service at their champagne bar, and the waiter offered for me to partake in it. It was brought to me very quickly and was probably the most amazing caviar ever. It was served in a ice filled bowl with the bowl of caviar in it. ( sorry I couldn't get a picture of it ). It was also served with toast on the side but I didn't eat that. I then went to the lounging area and did some work in the super private tables. they were very comfy and stylish. After I went to have a bath in the luxurious cabana's. I didn't have any trouble getting one because it wasn't very busy. When you walk in you have a tap area where you find the basin and some amenities. Then if you go past that there is a massive bath and a very nice shower and all of these taps are fountain taps which is very fancy. I had a very luxurious bath and than chill-axed on the super nice sofa on my Samsung galaxy tab s ( which is amazing ) in the bath robes that I found in the wardrobe.

Then went to the dining section to have something too eat before I got on the plane. I decided to have the
seared salmon with potato cream and deviled eggs. It looked very tasty but then I thought " how will I be able to eat on the plane after all this!" so I didn't get anything else.

It was then time to start boarding at 11:45 am and I was greeted by name and taken to my seat. In my opinion the cabin doesn't look that different apart from a few minor changes, but there is a massive change in the business class.

I was offered the pre-departure champagne and I chose the Amour de Deutz Brut 2005. We then took off  (the sound of the engines was amazing) . I love the Hong Kong airport because of the take off. There are many  fabulous views . I also love the newer 777 because it is smoother to the old one but not that much quieter. I will always enjoy the Cathay pacific first class seat refurbished or not. It is very wide so you can comfortably move around in your seat. It is also very open, but you still get a lot of privacy. After take off they handed out hot towels which were very refreshing and smelt amazing. Lunch was served not long after take off and I had The buffalo salami antipasto with grilled focaccia and tomato selection for starter. I missed the main because of the food earlier and went straight to dessert and I had the
panna cotta with  white chocolate, amaretto and preserved cherry's. I adore panna cotta and this one was amazing because it tasted and looked extrodinary. I then was getting tired and went to get into the not so comfy pajama's whilst the Air hostess made my bed. When I got back my bed was made and there was a cup of tea there like I asked. This was the most comfy bed I have ever slept on in first or business class and I slept for 5 hours or so. I slept through the other meal service because I asked for them not to wake me up. We landed in Seoul and another thing about the 777 ,in general, the take off and landings are soooooo smooth. First class is good because you always get to exit first cad you don't have to walk all the way down the plane in a que.
It was sunny in Seoul when I arrived.

Overall I would recommend the first class seats to solo travelers because even though you can eat a meal with someone else you will not be able to see them due to the
1-1-1 seat configuration. But it is a very luxurious airline and I would Defiantly fly on it again if I could.

British Airways Business class 747

Carrying on from my last trip report on the British airways A 380 first class to Los Angeles, I will be returning to London on a British airways 747
business class. I am looking forward to it because it looks very good from what I have heard from other reviews. I really like the new layout because it helps you interact with the people you are travelling with really easily! I only picked business class because, on the 747, the British airways first class is not the best and I wanted to try it out anyway. I will be sitting in seat 14 B which is an aisle seat on the main deck. I did not want a window or middle seat because it is rather awkward when you have to step over a sleeping person which is probably the only bad point about the business class.

Anyway I arrived at LAX at 9:20 am for my 12:30 am flight. I really don't like LAX airport because I find it extremely confusing, but I found my way to the lounge or should I say Galleries, as British airways like to call it. I found the Lounge quite nice but nothing special and the food looked disgusting in the place that you can help yourself.

, but I didn't have much time to review it because I fell asleep in one of the super comfy chairs and was woken up by an announcement for a British Airways A380 leaving so I thought that I should be getting to my gate which was a 10 minute walk away:( . There were some excellent views of our plane that was being boarded.

The air hostess that greeted me was very nice and told me which direction to go . I wasn't blown away this time with the cabin because it looks, well, ordinary. It looks better to the old one but it is nothing amazing compared to other airlines . but I did find the seat very comfortable but not much privacy was given, although, to be fair, the Window and middle seats do have A LOT of privacy and if Qantas can claim that their first class seats are suites than so can British airways for these seats. But for the other person to get out of their seat they have to walk past/ climb over you if you are in the lie flat position. I am regretting not booking a window seat. I don't really like the 747 because it is very loud and the take off and landing are very bumpy. One thing I did like about the cabin was that there was a panel on the far wall with a glowing blue British airways logo and it made the cabin look a touch more modern. My seat was very nice although I think that the reading light could have been in a different area because I kept blocking it by accident. I was offered my pre-departure drink and I chose a ginger beer, because i didn't feel like champagne. As I sat down i found a pillow, a duvet and noise cancelling headphones. Luckily we were given our other things in our amenity kit which had many Elemis products in it.

After reaching cruise altitude we were given hot towels which was very nice and refreshing ( by the way we were given hot towels on first class but I just forgot to mention it, sorry). About an hour after take off the lunch service started. For the starter I had

Tiger prawn Bois bourdran with pepquinio and creme fraiche. For the main I had Roasted corn fed chicken with pea and broad bean fricassee sweet potato mash and port wine jus, this was nice but the presentation wasn't. For desert I had

Peach melba delice and raspberry confit. The presentation on this was better but it was a bit too doughy. Although it wasn't a brilliant meal, it was amazing for business class.

After I went to go and look at the on board snacks section, and it had a variety of snacks like mars bars, biscuits, snack bars , juices,  fizzy and normal water. There were also some nice crisps and soft drinks. I then went back to my seat, turned it into a fully 180 degree bed and had a good 3 hours solid sleep on it. I then woke up 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to landing and was served afternoon tea. I had a
chocolate eclair, lemon cupcake and raspberry cream sponge. This was very nice and, in my opinion, and better then the dessert I had with my lunch. I had some other food as well ( the air hostess was very generous). And not long after we landed in London and it was raining surprise, surprise.

Overall I think the British airways business class is very nice and convenient for lone and couple travelers, so I massively recommend it to anyone.

British Airways First Class A380

I arrived at Heathrow Airport (terminal 5) at 6:30 am for my 9:45 am flight on a British airways A380 first class. I walked over to the first class check-in which was very quiet and stylish. Behind the person at the computer there was an illuminated wall with the British Airways logo on it and the word First on it.

After check-in  I went straight to the Concorde room. From the lounge area there we plenty off good views of planes.  ( I saw a Emirates A380, a United 777, a British Airways 747 and A380, and many, many more) After a few cups of tea I was getting hungry so I decided to go to the dining area to get something too eat. The separate tables  were very private and looked very nice. Even though I was hungry I decided only to get a small breakfast , partly because the menu didn't look too nice and partly because breakfast was going to be served on the plane. So I decided to have a freshly backed croissant which was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle and the jam it was served with was sweet and flavorsome , but it made me thirsty, so I ordered an orange juice. It was brought to me very quickly and it was the best orange juice I have ever had. It was freshly squeezed and full of flavor, so I ordered it again three times :).

Boarding started at 9:00 am, it was a bit late due to a delay, but we were on the plane soon enough. We boarded on the bottom level through door 2L and I was greeted by name by the air hostess. When I was escorted to my seat and walked into the first class cabin I was blown away with the remarkable change. Instead of that horrible tacky bright yellow wood you find on the old British Airways and Emirates first class,  they have changed the theme to a darker metallic pallet with colors including black , grey and white. It looks very nice.

The seat is not very different to the one on the 777-300 er apart from a few minor changes. For example they have moved the seat controls from  the wall next to you to the table block in front of you, this makes them easier to reach and also give you more room around your shoulders and legs when you are in the fully flat bed position. They have also changed the shell of the seat so you get more privacy and finally, in my opinion, the table has been edited to make it more sturdy. But they also changed the windows, which I think was a mistake, because on the 777 the windows have a glass panel in front of them and when you want to close the windows a blind comes down and it turns blue to match the mood lighting. But now they just have ordinary A380 windows. I was offered some champagne and I graciously accepted . I was given Grand siecle which was very tasty. They served Breakfast about 30 mins after take off. For starters I had chilled fruit Juice and for the main I had Buttermilk pancakes with mixed berry compote ( as seen in the picture above). I almost forgot to talk about the amenity kit, it included some toothpaste and a toothbrush, socks, eye shades, ear plugs, mouthwash, moisturizer and some other creams.

After breakfast I was getting tired, because of the different time zones, so I decided to have a very good sleep on the 180 degree lie flat ,super comfy, seat. I asked for a turn down service while I got into my pagama's and when I returned my bed was made, with my champagne glass filled :)

Unfortunately I had missed the lunch service and woke up for the dinner service, which was 3 hours prior to landing. I had for the starter, a 12 month aged Serrano ham with roasted tomato timbale and shallot dressing , which was very nice. For the main I had Braised beef with Armagnac
aigre-doux sauce, haricots verts and seared endives, this was also very nice but the beef was a bit burnt and the presentation could have been better. And for dessert I had a dark chocolate mousse layered with chocolate cake and creme brulee, That was amazing. Unfortunately there was only time for two more movies before landing, which I was very upset about because I love the British airways first class on the A380.  anyway we touched down in Los Angeles after a 9 hour flight of luxury ,In my opinion.
